Gare de France
The station was the starting point for the first railway line to link Barcelona and Mataró was replaced in 1929 but the recently restored French Station. This enormous glass roof iron structure marks the start of «long distance routes» and is the setting for a number of cultural events such as the annual Cartoon forum (Saló del Comic).

Wine-producing cooperative
The winemaking co-operative is the work of architect Jeroni Martorell. The great vaults between the old casks and the metal vats are striking.

Casa de la Canonja
This old canons' residence (1546) has retained two interesting sculpted details on the facade and on the outside. To the right you will the building of the Pia Almoina, a charitable institution created in 1009. Totally renovated, these two buildings today accommodate the Museum of the Diocese of Barcelona, in which you will see paintings, sculptures, pieces of gold and silverware and religious clothing. The museum also organises temporary exhibits.

Pla del Teatre
In this esplanade stands the old main theatre and the monument which honours the satirical playwright Frederic Soler, best remebered as «Piatarra». Charicaturists, painters and tarot card readers all populate this area and have turned it into a somewhat bizarre and contreversial place.
