Clevedon Court
This lovely early 14C building took on its current form in 1570. Its interior decoration is not indicative of a specific period. The ceremonial room (14C) is a reflection of the tastes of ten generations of the same family. In the Justice Room, you can see an exhibition of Nailsea glass, made locally from 1788-1873.

St John the Baptist's Church
The tower of St John the Baptist's Church (15 C), which is 41 m high, is one of the finest in Somerset with its cross of openwork pinnacles (St Katherine's Chapel inside is a remainder of the 12C building).

Somerset Rural Life Museum
The museum illustrates the daily life of a 19C Somerset farm: the masterpiece is the 14C barn from the abbey, with its fine masonry and splendid roof.

Sherborne Castle
This old castle, which now stands ruined, was built from 1107-1135. In 1592, it became the property of Walter Raleigh, who built another residence, Sherborne Lodge, forming the centre of the current building on the far banks of the Yeo. He created a four-storey building topped with a Dutch gable and balcony, built from Ham stone. Sir John Digby enlarged the castle 1620-1630. The castle has stayed in the Digby family ever since.
