Acinipo
The ruins 19km north of Ronda are known locally as Ronda la Vieja. They stand on the old settlement of Acinipo, described by Pliny the Elder (AD 23-79), the Roman writer on natural history. Among the most impressive remains are the large 1C BC theatre, parts of a wall that was probably Phoenician, and circular dwellings dating back to the 8C BC.

The Vaults
The strange octagonal building derives its name from its vaulted rooms. The place is in fact a thermal establishment dating from the 3C AD.
