This art and archaeology museum is on the disused land of the Sphinx ceramics factory. The archaeology section recalls prehistory, the Roman era and the medieval period. The Old Art section has work from Flemish studios and artists, paintings on wood from the first Italian period, a large collection of medieval sculptures and magnificent medieval objets d'art. The museum also has some contemporary works.

This museum is devoted to popular arts and folklore in the Walloon country. It is housed in a former abbey of mining brothers, and includes a puppet theatre and rooms devoted to tradition. You will discover the way of life in other times through interior reconstructions and workshops. In the room devoted to popular beliefs and magic, there are "nail oaks" where the ill would nail their bandages to get rid of their conditions.

This street is lined with old houses. Note the old brick De Verkeerde Wereld (The World in Reverse) House at n° 7 or half-timbered Medieval house on the corner of the Halstraat. Also, the house at n° 19 has a white façade (1620) projecting onto arches, which is a regional characteristic. At n° 21, the Stenen Huis (Stone House) has a more austere and classical façade.

This is the former church of a women's abbey founded at the end of the 10C. Rebuilt at the end of the 13C in the Gothic style, it has preserved two staircase turrets and a crypt from the Romanesque era. Extended in the 15C, converted at the end of the 18C, it was then restored by Cuypers (end of the 19C). A brick tower striped with white stone stands in front of it. The interior is surprisingly white. The church has a small museum containing the church treasures.
