The Aspromonte massif (2 000m) lies at the southernmost tip of Calabria. The face overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast drops in terraces to the shore while the slopes on the Ionian coast descend more gently down to the sea. Forests of chestnut trees, oaks, pines and beeches cover its flanks cut by deep valleys. The S 183 between the S 112 and Melito di Porto Salvo runs through attractive scenery and affords countless opportunities to admire spectacular panoramas.

La Cattolica church <!-- ReligiousBuildings isempty -->

This is a 10C church on a square plan that is crowned by five small cylindrical domes. The external ornamentation is very refined and is made up a twin window, brick and tiles. Inside, the Greek cross is formed of nine squares which enclose four marble columns topped by small domes and cradle vaults. The mosaics are sadly very dilapidated.
