The old university has two cloisters behind its Renaissance façade: one in the Renaissance style, the other in the Herrerian style. The 18C church has colourful frescos and rich rococo stucco.

Just by the road leading from Murcia, the Museum of La Huerta is a building devoted to ethnography, its white barracas a sign of disappeared dwellings dispersed among the orange trees, and the noria, a giant wheel designed by the Moors to bring up water from the irrigation canal.

The Gothic church portal shows the emblems of the Catholic Kings who were its founders, and the statue of St James. Inside, the lateral chapels house several statues by Salzillo.
