This spectacular square is reached from the cathedral square and Rue Elie-Fréron (pretty Renaissance porch at n° 20). Beyond, in Rue du Sallé, see the house of the Mahaults of Minuellou at n° 10.

Located in an old canning factory, this museum gathers an exceptional collection (60 items) of French and foreign fishing boats, transportation boats and yachts. The Irish curragh stands side by side with the Welsh coracle and the Norwegian oselvar. The clinker-built boats meet face to face with freeboard boats. The most interesting parts are the triple triumphant doorway with Corinthian decoration, surmounted by a Calvary and the ossuary-chapel with its double arcature. Both monuments date from 1585-1588. In the ossuary is a small museum devoted to local traditions. The 16C church, altered in the 17 and 18C, is connected to the sacristy by a passageway. The organ-chest, high altar and reredos are 17C, as is the canopy over the baptismal fonts.

Nothing Quimpérois is missed in this museum: prehistory (the collar of Tréglonou), stone sculpture and holy statuary (polychrome wood effigies of Breton saints), traditional clothing and furniture (lit-clos) and a great collection of ceramics. In the Tower of Rohan, there is a lovelyl spiral staircase.
