Royal Scots Regimental Museum <!-- Museums isempty -->

The Royal Scots Regiment is the oldest regiment in the British Army. Raised on the 28th of March 1633, at first the unit served King Louis XIII in France and earned the Regiment the nickname of Pontius Pilate's bodyguard. It was finally recalled to Great Britain in 1676. The exhibition halls trace the history of the regiment: Corunna, Waterloo, Alma, Sebastopol, and the Marne... The medal section is impressive.

Lower City Mills <!-- Museums isempty -->

This fine old industrial complex straddles the Town Lade, a 6 km-canal which carried water from a Tay tributary. The Upper City Mills have been successfully redeveloped and are now a hotel. The Lower Mills are a museum with machinery from the Victorian era in working order. A miller guide will explain how the oats were produced that were used to make the porridge fed to prisoners of the English.

Church of Scotland General Assembly Hall <!-- CivilAndHistoricArchitecture isempty -->

The Church of Scotland General Assembly Hall, looms up at the site of the Marie de Guise's palace, which was destroyed in 1861. Now a university building, Myln'es Court was restored in the 70's back to how it was at the end f the 17th C.

Princes Street Gardens <!-- UrbanAndNaturalAreas isempty -->

The Nor'Loch valley was filled when development work started on the new town, then made into gardens reserved for the residents of the town. They were finally open to the public in 1876 and today offer an agreeable place to take refuge from the commotion of Prince's street.
