Cowane's Hospital
Until recently occupied by the town hall, this E-shaped building was founded by John Cowane (c 1570-1633) to offer asylum to 12 local people. Built between 1633 and 1639, the premises include a refectory with a dormitory above. The benefactor, a Member of the Scottish Parliament, can be seen above the entrance.

Bannockburn Heritage Centre
An equestrian (1964) statue of Robert the Bruce (1274-1329), erected inside the rotunda, marks the king's command post on the eve of the Battle of Bannockburn where, on 24 June 1314, he routed the English troops. Bannockburn was a turning point in the war for Scottish independence. The information centre shows an audio-visual presentation of the battle and has exhibits on the Kingdom of Scotland, Robert the Bruce and the fight for independence.

Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders Regimental Museu
Distinctions won on the battlefield, flags, medals, peacetime and wartime uniforms, documents and photographs: an array of exhibits covering close to 200 years of the history of this regiment and its heroic moments such as the Battle of Balaclava (1854) and the liberation of Lucknow. The regiment is justifiably proud of its fine collection of silver plate.

Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art
A wood-panelled location houses the sculptures of Bourdelle, Epstein, Hepworth, Moore and Rickey; the museum is found in an imposing neo-classical building. The collection stresses Scottish art of the 20th century it also offers the visitor an excellent insight into the main international movements; nabism and fauvism, German Expressionism, Cubism, primitivism and abstract Russian art, abstract art, Paris School, Nouveau realism, St Ives school, Pop Art and finally minimalism.
