This part of Bond Street is flanked by luxury shops with well-established reputations specialising in porcelain, jewellery (Cartier, Tiffany, Boucheron at no. 180 Asprey at no. 430) and antique shops. Beyond a bronze group in honour of Churchill and Eisenhower, New Bond Street begins.

Vegetarian restaurants, shops for organic products and homeopathic medicines have all been set up in this picturesque courtyard which has preserved its charm from yesteryear with its trellises, dovecotes, geranium beds and attractive enclosed trees. Neal Street also has some specialist shops.

The zoo houses 8,000 animals of 900 species on an area of 14 ha. Cleft by Regent's Canal and the outer circle, it is split into three parts joined by tunnels or footbridges. A building, whose architecture was inspired by a termite hill with solar panels opened in 1999 and contains the Web of Life. These are exhibitions devoted to bio-diversity and the protection of animal species.

Burlington House is the home of the Royal Academy of Arts, which, founded in 1768, first occupied Somerset House. Learned societies occupy the left wing. The central block is devoted to the Academy (40 members), the collections of which are displayed in the Private Rooms and comprise canvases by its members (Reynolds, Gainsborough, Constable and Turner), 18C furnishings, a Madonna by Michelangelo and the famous copy of Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper.
