Visit the University of Al-karaouine which was founded in 859 AD and is the oldest operating University in the world; The Kairaouine Mosque which at over a thousand years old is one of the oldest and largest in Africa (please note non-Muslims are not allowed inside the mosque) and the tanners quarter where from a platform you can look down and see how the process is done.
