The old quarter of Estepona is covered in winding cobbled alleys and pleasant flower filled squares, while the waterfront is relaxed and fringed by plenty of bars and restaurants. Less congested and developed than Marbella, Estepona attracts people looking to enjoy the Costa del Sol with slightly less of the crowds. Playa de Rada and Playa de Cristo are two fine sandy beaches ideal for the whole family to soak up a little sun (don’t forget the cream!). You can even enjoy some water sports such as jet skiing and parasailing. The waterfront avenue of Paseo Maritimo is a wonderful place to stroll at sunset, with lush gardens and a few relaxed bars. There are even several historic attractions, including a sturdy tower used to protect locals from pirate raids, a wonderful 15th Century church and an ancient aqueduct.
