Car Hire Ibiza - Towns in Ibiza

Despite what you might think, Ibiza is not just about bars and clubs. With a hire car you can travel around the island visiting the other sites and attractions it has to offer.

Try visiting D’Alt Vila, the old walled town, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. The walls were raised by Felipe II in order to protect the town from invasion by French and Turkish forces. Inside you can find upmarket restaurants, shops and art galleries to enjoy at your own leisure.

For local natural attractions, visit the Cova de Can Marcá, a collection of caverns spectacularly lit by background lighting. The caves are located to the right, just before the entrance to Port de Sant Miquel. A tour of the caves is conducted in several languages and takes between 30 – 40 minutes.

Car Hire Ibiza – Night life in Ibiza

People first came to party in Ibiza during the flower-power era of the 1960’s, as the ideal getaway to tune in and drop out. Today the clubbing scene in Ibiza boasts world famous clubs, DJ’s, bands and a whole host of party makers from all walks of life.

Most of the mainstream bars and clubs are located in Ibiza town. Check out the Pacha and El Divino ‘superclubs’. If you are new to the island, why not catch the ‘Discobus’ which will take you to all the major bars and clubs in Ibiza city. The bus operates during the summer season (from June to September) and runs nightly between midnight and 6am.

Car Hire Ibiza – Driving Tips

As you are staying on a Spanish island, it goes with out saying that you drive your car on the right hand side and look left when turning onto roundabouts. However there are several other points you should be aware of:

The speed limit is 100 km/h on highways and 80km/h in towns

Overtaking another car is generally banned if the driver cannot see at least 200 metres of road ahead

Seat belts for the driver and passengers are obligatory

Each car is required to contain a reflective yellow vest for the driver and each passenger

Every vehicle must carry a box of spare light bulbs at all times

Turn off your car and all radios and mobile phones when refuelling

Be aware that a first time drink driving offence can mean six months in jail
