easyCar gets another 740 locations in more than 21 countries

easyCar, low cost car rental online, has seen huge growth this year fuelled mainly by its franchise and brokerage agreements. During the Spring of 2004 easyCar opened its first franchise in Cyprus and made its first brokerage agreement for Greece. In addition, brokerage agreements have been made with two Spanish car rental companies who are currently supplying easyCar customers with vehicles in Spain. Since its first sale fulfilled by a third party at the end of March 2004, easyCar has sold several thousand rentals to consumers that have been fulfilled by a franchisee or broker.

Today easyCar has made a brokerage agreement with Alamo Rent a Car which adds a further 740 easyCar locations in more than 21 countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, France, Holland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Ireland. The nature of this agreement is that easyCar customers book through the easyCar website and the vehicle is provided at site level by Alamo.

easyCar customers will now have a much larger choice of easyCar locations and combined with Alamo’s fleet of over 100,000 will really put them in the driving seat, giving them a wide range of vehicles, from compacts to intermediates, estates and people movers.

"easyCar is now widely known to represent good value, low cost car hire and I want to capitalise on this brand awareness," said Stelios the serial entrepreneur and easyGroup chairman. "Brokerage agreements are allowing easyCar to expand internationally much faster than it could on its own," he continued.

easyCar continues to own and operate its UK fleet, based in six major UK cities. It is anticipated that easyCar will announce brokerage agreements covering the USA, the Middle East and Australia in the near future. As new countries become available they will progressively be added to the easyCar website for sale.
