Aeolian Islands
A series of seven small islands, the Aeolian archipelago is an oasis of wild natural beauty. Located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, north of Sicily, the UNESCO protected islands are a wonder for geoscientists – thanks to their volcanic phenomenons – and a heavenly getaway for tourists. Their vivid blue waters are a stunning playground for water sports enthusiasts as well as those who prefer relaxing on the shore.
Take a ferry from the port of Milazzo to reach the islands. Though a few of the islands are car free, you can ferry a car over to the largest island – Lipari. However, it’s probably most convenient as a tourist to leave your car parked in Milazzo.
