The island’s wonders
Just a half an hour drive from the airport will bring you to Capo Caccia, a spectacular nature reserve, where steep cliffs plunge into the sea and waters appear in shades of crystal clear blue. Grotta di Nettuno, a haunting stalactite sea cave, is the island’s largest cave and one of the area’s most noteworthy excursions.
If you’re less for nature and more for history, Necropoli di Anghelu Ruju is an easy stop to make as you leave the airport (just a 10 minute drive!). This archaeological site is dotted with burial chambers and sandstone tombs that date back thousands of years.
