Sutton Hoo
An Anglo-Saxon royal burial site, Sutton Hoo is one of Europe’s most monumental archaeological discoveries. Explore the reconstructed burial chambers and learn about the story of the medieval ship, which was buried with everything needed for the afterlife. Its incredible treasures included finely constructed pieces of silverware and gold as well as an intricate helmet, made for a king.
Overlooking the river Deben, the estate, situated near Woodbridge, is around an hour and a half drive from Cambridge. There is also a car park located just 30 yards from the site.
