Hire a car in Lincoln
A visit to Lincoln is a step back in time.
With its gothic cathedral and Norman castle dominating the city skyline, the city’s historic prominence is hard to overlook. Set in the heart of Lincolnshire, Lincoln was once one of four regional capitals of Roman Britain and a few fragments of the era still remain – pieces of a Roman wall and Newport Arch.
It later became a booming medieval town, during which time its mighty monuments were constructed. Lincoln Cathedral was the world’s tallest building for 238 years and no visit to Lincoln Castle is complete without viewing one of the original copies of the Magna Carta.
