Hire a car in Fez
Embodying Morocco’s barebones culture, Fez holds tightly onto its raw and ancient character.
While Morocco’s other big cities seek to entertain tourists, Fez appears unaltered, timelessly preserved as it was hundreds of years ago. Mesmerising tile patterns cover sacred buildings as alleys aimlessly twist their way to overwhelming, yet, invigorating markets jam-packed with colourful handicrafts.
Getting lost within Fez’s city walls is almost inevitable, but you’re also guaranteed to stumble across some magnificent treasures. Once you’re in need of a breath of fresh air, hit the road and head to the nearby Atlas Mountains or the country’s stunning desert plains.
Sights to see
Enjoy your visit to Fez with one of our cheap hire cars. Fez, one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, is the cultural and religious centre of Morocco. This enchanting city is one of the largest and oldest medieval cities in the world and although it remains almost unchanged it is still very much alive. Culture, history, religion and art are evident in every direction and one of our car rentals will help you to take advantage of it all.
Things to do in Fez
Visiting Fez is like taking a trip back in time. The city is divided into three parts Fez-Jdid (New Fez), Ville Nouvelle (the French created newest section) and Fez el Bali (the old walled city). The whole medina in the old city was declared a World Heritage site in 1981 and the atmosphere is simply stunning as you walk through the many alleyways past palaces; mosques; donkeys transporting goods; old souks (markets) selling food, leather, silver, Berber rugs, pottery and many other merchandise and craftsman working at their stalls. Visit the University of Al-karaouine which was founded in 859 AD and is the oldest operating University in the world; The Kairaouine Mosque which at over a thousand years old is one of the oldest and largest in Africa (please note non-Muslims are not allowed inside the mosque) and the tanners quarter where from a platform you can look down and see how the process is done. Using your car rental you could go to see the Merenid tombs which are set on a hillside and enjoy one of the most beautiful views over the city, drive to fellow imperial city Meknes or the archaeological site Volubilis which are both approximately an hour away.
Fes-Saiss Airport cheap car hire
We provide car rentals both in Fez and at the Fes-Saiss Airport so you can pick up your hire car as soon as you arrive. The capital city is about three hours drive away so you could explore both cities and leave your hire car in Rabat before flying home.
