Knole House

Resting within Kent's last medieval deer park, Knole House is arguably one of England's largest homes. Originally built as an Archbishop's palace, it eventually became a royal Tudor estate, and later the Sackville family home. Situated on a low rising hill, there are seven courtyards, one for each day of the week, and an orangery.

Through the various 600 year old state rooms and galleries you will find 17th century tapestries and furniture alongside paintings by Van Dyck. Climb up the spiral staircase up to the rooftop for panoramic views of the estate.

From Dartford, it is roughly half an hour's drive to Knole House. The National Trust suggests using the property's postcode (TN13 1HU) when searching for directions with a sat nav system to ensure the correct location. Parking is free for National Trust members or £4 for non-members.
