In comparison to many other car hire companies, the Firefly brand is relatively new. The company was developed by Hertz in 2013, and now has cars available in over 100 locations. As a budget brand, Firefly’s aim is to be the rental provider that customers go to for a low-cost deal. From mini cars to 7-seaters, Firefly offers a range of vehicles, and operates in a wide range of areas, including Europe, America, Australia and New Zealand. Firefly forms part of the Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group.
Firefly age requirements
How old do you have to be to rent a car from Firefly?
In Italy, Firefly accept drivers from the age of 21, but may charge extra as insurance is more expensive.
It costs an extra €21.93 per day (up to 10 days) to rent a car if you are aged between 21-23.
In Spain, if you are aged 21-24 year old and want to rent a Firefly vehicle, you'll need to pay a young driver surcharge of €6.95 per day (up to €83.40).
Firefly also charge extra fees for drivers over the age of 70. These are the same price as young driver fees.
You must be 25 to rent certain categories of car.
The minimum age for renting a Firefly car in France is 21.
In France, drivers aged 21-24 must pay €30 per day, up to a maximum of €300.
Drivers aged 25 and above do not need to pay a surcharge.
