How old do you have to be to rent a car from Hertz?
In the UK, if you are aged 23-24, you can rent a car from Hertz, however you will need to pay a young driver surcharge. This costs £36 per day (for the first 10 days).
To rent a car without paying a young driver fee, you need to be 25 years or above.
To rent some of the more expensive cars, you may need to be at least aged 27, 28, 30 or 35, depending on the category.
In Spain, you can rent certain vehicles with Hertz as long as you are at least 21 years old. 21-24 year olds need to pay a young driver surcharge of €28 per day or €166 per week.
The minimum rental age to rent from Hertz in Spain without paying a surcharge is 25.
You must be 28 to rent certain categories of car.
In France, drivers aged 21-24 must pay €37 per day, up to a maximum of €445.
Drivers aged 25 and above do not need to pay a surcharge.
For some cars in higher value categories you may be required to be 28 or 30 years old.
