Leicester is a historic and multicultural city on the rise.
Over a third of its population is Asian and more than one hundred languages spoken are spoken on its streets. So perhaps unsurprisingly, it has been tapped on the shoulder to become Britain’s first “plural city” – where no ethnic group is the majority.
The city’s Roman heritage, royal remains and champion football club, provide a variety of tourist attractions as well. Leicester's two universities mean that youthful vibes keep the city wide awake into the night and an influx of new ideas are propelling the city forward.

This has been the ancestral home of the Dukes of Rutland for almost 1000 years. Three versions of the castle were built and subsequently destroyed on the property before the grand Regency house currently standing on the estate was built in the 1800s. Belvoir, meaning beautiful view, is true to its name.

Despite its name, this site was never actually an abbey. During the 12th century, it was an Augustinian priory, before eventually becoming a stately home. Hidden within secluded park land, it was a family home until 1985. Today, it is deliberately displayed in the manner it was found in – a state of decline.

Built by William the Conqueror, this castle was once a royal bastion and hunting lodge. It has been a family owned castle for 450 years, after Henry VIII granted it to the Watson family. It has spectacular views overlooking the Welland Valley and 18 acres of gardens.
