Things to do in Redditch
Surrounded by peaceful Worcestershire countryside, Redditch is a town with a fascinating heritage dating back to the 12th Century. Back in the Middle Ages Cistercian Monks built an abbey at Bordesley, the site of which can still be explored today. Despite being an important centre for commerce and trade in the region, Redditch is peaceful, green and full of parks and gardens. Redditch even boasts a wonderful industrial museum, the Forge Hill Needle Museum. Here you can see a unique set of displays telling the story of the surprisingly gruesome needle-making industry in Victorian times. You can also see many of the artefacts recovered from the nearby Bordesley Abbey ruins. If you're looking for shopping, there are plenty of stores in the centre. Anyone keen on more active pursuits can enjoy all kinds of sports and activities from canoeing to golf.
